CHAGAI: Security forces have killed two alleged militants belonging to the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) during an operation in Nokkundi’s Nokcha area of Chagai district, security sources said.
According to the sources, the incident took place on September 27 after BLA militants allegedly set fire to an empty water tanker in the Nokcha area before attempting to flee.
Security forces pursued the suspects, triggering an exchange of fire in which both alleged attackers were killed at the scene, the sources said.
The two men were identified as active members of the banned BLA and were reportedly wanted by police and security agencies in connection with several incidents of arson, attacks on vehicles and other acts of sabotage at sensitive locations along the N-40 highway.
Security sources said the latest operation was part of ongoing action against militant and sabotage activities in the Nokkundi and Dalbandin areas.
They recalled that 11 alleged BLA members were killed in a similar security operation on August 31. Authorities are examining possible links between the earlier incidents and recent attacks along the N-40 highway, the sources added.
