ISLAMABAD: Gold prices in Pakistan continued their downward trend on Thursday, declining for the fifth consecutive day, with the price of one tola of 24-karat gold falling by Rs 5,600.
According to data released by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, the price of one tola of 24-karat gold dropped to Rs 448,336, while the price of 10 grams declined by Rs 4,800 to Rs 384,175.
The price of silver also decreased, with one tola falling by Rs 171 to Rs 6,837.
The continued decline in domestic gold prices has been attributed to a drop in international gold prices. In the global market, the price of gold fell by $56 per ounce to $4,258.
Market prices in Pakistan have consequently come under further pressure as the international decline continues to affect the local bullion market.
