PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Emergency Rescue Service, Rescue 1122, has announced 800 regular vacancies across three categories, offering opportunities for emergency medical technicians, fire rescuers and drivers.

Interested candidates can submit their applications online through the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) until October 15, 2026.

According to the recruitment advertisement, applicants must be Pakistani citizens holding a valid Khyber Pakhtunkhwa domicile and should be prepared to serve in any district of the province. Women and candidates from minority communities have also been encouraged to apply.

Vacancies and Qualifications

The available positions include:

Emergency Medical Technicians: 350 posts in BPS-12. Applicants must have a relevant paramedical diploma, nursing qualification or LHV qualification. Candidates with Health Technology or Surgical Technology diplomas will be given preference.

Fire Rescuers: 175 posts in BPS-11. Candidates require an FSc Pre-Engineering qualification or a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE).

Drivers: 275 posts in BPS-06. Applicants must have at least a middle-level education, meet the required physical standards and hold a valid HTV or LTV driving licence.

Fresh driving licence application tokens will not be accepted for driver positions.

Age and Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must be between 22 and 35 years old. Any applicable age relaxation will be provided under existing government rules.

Applicants are required to meet all eligibility conditions by the closing date. Government and semi-government employees must apply through the proper channel and provide the required no-objection certificate (NOC).

The advertised positions have been distributed among merit, six recruitment zones and reserved quotas for women and minorities.

Physical Test

Applicants will have to clear a mandatory physical assessment as part of the recruitment process.

Male candidates must complete a one-mile run within seven minutes, while female candidates must complete it within nine minutes. The minimum height requirement is 5 feet 6 inches for men and 5 feet 2 inches for women. Male candidates must also meet a minimum chest measurement of 33 inches.

Written Test and Selection Process

The recruitment process includes educational qualifications, an ETEA test and an interview, carrying 70, 20 and 10 marks, respectively.

Candidates must secure at least 40 percent in the relevant screening or written test and interview requirements.

ETEA will also conduct skill-based assessments where necessary, including driving tests for applicants seeking driver positions.

Candidates will initially be allowed to participate in physical and screening tests on a provisional basis. The appointing authority will verify applicants’ eligibility at subsequent stages and may disqualify candidates who fail to meet the prescribed requirements.

Only shortlisted applicants will be called for interviews. The department has clarified that candidates will not be entitled to travel or daily allowances for appearing in the physical test, written examination or interview.

Applications must be submitted through ETEA before the October 15 deadline.
