ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has issued instructions to beneficiary women across the country, urging them to immediately report any attempt to stop, deduct or unlawfully withhold their financial assistance.
According to a statement issued by a BISP spokesperson, the financial assistance provided to beneficiary women is funded by the Government of Pakistan and belongs solely to the eligible recipients. No individual or institution is authorised to withhold the payment, demand money from beneficiaries or make any unauthorised deduction from the amount.
BISP has warned deserving women against falling victim to threats, pressure or blackmail and advised them to ensure that they receive the full amount of their financial assistance without any deduction. According to the spokesperson, anyone who obstructs the payment or demands a share of the assistance amount should immediately report the matter to the BISP helpline at 080026477.
Meanwhile, the Benazir Income Support Programme has also set a deadline for deserving women to obtain free SIM cards. According to the programme, women receiving financial assistance are required to obtain a free SIM card from their nearest BISP office by September 10.
The administration has clarified that the quarterly installment under the Benazir Kafaalat Programme will not be transferred to the accounts of eligible women who have not yet obtained their free Benazir SIM card. BISP has urged all eligible women to complete the SIM card registration process before the deadline to avoid any difficulty in receiving their next installment of financial assistance.
