PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been formally notified to immediately suspend gas supply to all CNG stations across the province due to a sharp drop in pipeline pressure.

According to a letter sent by SNGPL administration, severe disruptions in the RLNG supply chain and operational issues have caused a significant decline in gas pressure in the transmission pipelines.

The letter states that to maintain system pressure and ensure uninterrupted gas supply to domestic consumers, gas supply to the CNG sector will remain suspended until further notice.

Officials have requested the Additional Chief Secretary of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to issue immediate directives to all Deputy Commissioners in the province to ensure the closure of CNG stations.SNGPL has warned that if CNG stations are not shut down on time, low gas pressure in the transmission system could worsen.

This, officials said, may lead to difficulties for household consumers and increase public unrest. Authorities emphasized that providing gas to domestic users is the top priority under the current circumstances.

A decision on restoring supply to the CNG sector will be made later after reviewing the situation. The sudden suspension is expected to impact transport and commuters across KP who rely on CNG for vehicles.
