SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Four members of a family, including three children, were seriously injured when a quadcopter dropped bombs on their house near a security forces’ fort in Toi Khulla tehsil of South Waziristan on the night of August 30.

According to local sources, unidentified individuals used two quadcopter drones, also called “dragon drones”, to carry out the attack near the security fort. The explosions hit a house belonging to the Dotani tribe, injuring 37-year-old Ameer Jan and his three children.

The injured children were identified as Yaqoob, aged 2 to 3 years, Haroon, aged 3 to 4 years, and Ayesha, aged 5 to 6 years. All four were immediately taken to District Headquarters Hospital Wana for treatment. No official statement has been issued so far by police, security forces or the district administration regarding the incident.

Residents of the area have demanded a transparent investigation and urged the government to take immediate steps to stop such quadcopter attacks and ensure the safety of civilians living near security installations.
