PESHAWAR: A notification circulating on social media claiming that former Punjab Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar has been appointed as the new Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has been declared ‘fake’.
According to verification by Pakhtun Digital, no official notification or letter has been issued by the Establishment Division or the federal government regarding Dr Usman Anwar’s appointment as KP police chief.
The document being shared on social media is reportedly fabricated, while contacts with relevant authorities and sources confirmed that the claim is based on an unverified rumour.
Officials have urged the public not to believe or share such unverified information and to rely on official sources for confirmation of important government appointments.
