ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has issued important instructions for registered women regarding the Benazir SIM and digital wallet, urging beneficiaries to remain cautious of unauthorized individuals, agents and misinformation.
According to a BISP spokesperson, eligible women should collect their Benazir SIM only from designated BISP offices. Beneficiaries have been warned against obtaining SIMs from unauthorized locations or unrelated individuals, as doing so could create problems later.
BISP also advised beneficiaries not to rely on rumours or misleading information circulating on social media and other platforms. Women seeking guidance or additional information have been encouraged to contact their nearest BISP office.
Benazir SIM Available Free of Cost
Women who have not yet received their Benazir SIM can obtain it free of charge from their nearest BISP office.
They must bring their original CNIC and personal mobile phone to collect the SIM.
BISP has instructed beneficiaries to have the SIM installed in their mobile phone by authorized BISP staff at the time of collection. They have also been advised not to seek assistance from agents or unauthorized individuals for SIM installation or related matters.
Do Not Hand Over Your Mobile Phone
BISP has specifically warned beneficiaries against handing over their mobile phones to agents or other unauthorized people.
According to the programme, receiving payments requires an original CNIC and biometric verification, meaning there is no need for beneficiaries to hand their phones to another person.
Women have also been advised to keep their mobile phones and registered mobile numbers in their possession at all times. This will help prevent others from deleting important messages related to payments, notifications or complaints.
SMS Alert When Money Reaches Digital Wallet
BISP officials said beneficiaries will receive an SMS from the relevant bank when funds are transferred to their digital wallets.
After the money is withdrawn, another confirmation message will be sent containing details of the amount transferred and received.
The confirmation SMS will also serve as proof of payment and allow beneficiaries to verify whether they have received the full amount.
All BISP Services Are Free
BISP has reiterated that all payments, facilities and services provided under the programme are completely free of charge.
Beneficiaries have been advised to remain alert if anyone demands money or a fee for a Benazir SIM, payment or any other BISP service.
Women facing such demands should immediately contact their nearest BISP office and report the matter.
BISP has also urged beneficiaries to protect their personal information, identity documents and mobile phones and to contact the relevant authorities in case of any suspicious activity or demands from unauthorized individuals.
