ISLAMABAD: Gold prices surged sharply in both domestic and international bullion markets on Thursday, pushing the price of the precious metal to an all-time high in Pakistan.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold per tola increased by Rs11,300, reaching a record Rs449,236.

The price of 10 grams of gold also rose significantly, climbing Rs9,688 to Rs385,147.

In the international market, gold prices gained $113 per ounce, taking the global rate to $4,268 per ounce, reflecting strong upward momentum in precious metal trading.

The latest increase follows another substantial rise recorded a day earlier, when the price of gold per tola jumped by Rs10,000. Over the past two trading sessions, gold prices have increased by a combined Rs21,300 per tola, marking one of the steepest short-term rallies in Pakistan’s bullion market.

Market analysts attribute the continued rise to firm international gold prices and sustained demand in global markets, although traders are closely monitoring further developments that could influence future price movements.
