ISLAMABAD: The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs4.45 per litre while reducing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs2 per litre for Thursday, Aug. 6, despite a decline in international petroleum prices.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division based on the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA)’s recommendations, the revised prices will remain effective for Aug. 6 only.
Under the new rates, petrol has become Rs4.45 per litre more expensive, while high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs2 per litre.
The price adjustment comes at a time when global oil prices have softened, making the increase in petrol prices in Pakistan notable. The Petroleum Division has officially notified the revised rates, which took effect on Thursday.
