PESHAWAR: Senior Awami National Party (ANP) leader and former Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Alamgir Khalil has passed away.

According to party sources, the funeral prayer of the deceased will be offered on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 10:00 am in his native village Pawaka (Garhi Abdul Qayum Khan), Peshawar.

ANP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Mian Iftikhar Hussain and General Secretary Hussain Shah Yousafzai expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Alamgir Khalil.

The party leadership stated that the late leader dedicated his life to the national political movement and the party. They described him as an ethical, principled and committed political worker who remained firm on his beliefs throughout his career.

ANP leaders said that Alamgir Khalil’s services and contributions to the party would always be remembered.

The party also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to be granted a place in eternal mercy and for the family to be given patience and strength.
