Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience hot and sunny weather today, with temperatures climbing to 43°C in most parts of the province while rain is expected July 29.

According to the forecast, the maximum temperature in KP will hover around 40 degrees, while the minimum will stay near 83°F. Humidity levels will be around 38% and the UV index will remain high at 7. In Peshawar, the mercury is likely to reach 42°C with a feels-like temperature of up to 45°C in the afternoon.

PMD officials said scattered rain-wind and thunderstorms were recorded in upper KP districts including Abbottabad, Swat, Mansehra, Chitral, Dir, Kohat and Mardan on Monday. However, no flood-generating rainfall activity is expected till today.

The Met Office has forecast a fresh wet spell to commence from July 29 across upper catchments of all major rivers, including KP, Islamabad, upper Punjab, AJK and GB. Rain and thunderstorm activity is expected to increase from July 31, with chances of urban flooding in low-lying areas.PMD has advised citizens to stay hydrated and avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak hours due to extreme heat.

Farmers and travellers in northern districts have also been advised to remain cautious during the upcoming spell. The weather in KP is expected to remain hot until Wednesday, after which thunderstorms and showers are likely to bring some relief.
