PESHAWAR: Six more people died, and six others were injured when the roof and wall of a house collapsed due to heavy rains and flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PDMA said on Sunday.
It added that the dead included 3 men and 3 children, while the injured include 3 men and 3 women. It said that since July 24, a total of six persons have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in the province so far. Sharing further details, it informed that at least 26 houses were damaged, of which 19 were partially destroyed, and 7 houses were completely destroyed.
It said that heavy rains and flash floods have so far killed 32 people in the whole province since July 19. The dead included 13 men, 3 women and 16 children, while the injured include 16 men, 12 women and 7 children. Moreover, a total of 72 houses were damaged due to heavy rains and flash floods, of which 55 houses were partially destroyed and 17 houses were completely destroyed.
Furthermore, some 46 livestock were reported to have died in various natural disasters in the province since July 19. The majority of these ill-fated incidents occurred in Peshawar, Nowshera, Khyber, Mardan, Buner, Bajaur, Shangla, Swabi, Chitral Upper and Lower, Dir Lower and Upper, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan Upper, Tank, Torghar, Kurram and North and South Waziristan.
The PDMA in its release said that Rescue 1122, district administration and related agencies are in touch with each other and relief activities to provide relief supplies to the victims as soon as possible.
