ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds in several parts of northern Pakistan over the next two to five hours.

According to the latest weather update issued at 1:50am on July 26, a rain-bearing weather system is currently affecting Kashmir and adjoining upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The PMD said the system is likely to bring rain, windstorms and thunderstorms to Kashmir, Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Taxila, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum and surrounding areas during the forecast period. Isolated locations may also experience moderate to heavy rainfall.

The Met Office advised the public to remain cautious, particularly in areas vulnerable to urban flooding, flash floods and reduced visibility during heavy downpours.

Citizens have been urged to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather advisories issued by the department.
