ISLAMABAD: The government on Saturday announced to keep petroleum prices unchanged for Sunday, maintaining the rates of petrol and high-speed diesel under the country’s new daily fuel pricing mechanism.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol will remain at Rs335.18 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) will continue to be sold at Rs383.46 per litre.
The notification said the prices would remain effective until midnight on July 27. The decision comes a day after the government increased petrol by Rs3.66 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs4.80 per litre, marking the fifth consecutive increase since the introduction of daily fuel price revisions.
With Sunday’s decision, the government has paused the upward trend in fuel prices while retaining the latest rates.
Over the past week, petrol prices have risen by a cumulative Rs24.47 per litre, while high-speed diesel has increased by Rs60.16 per litre under the new pricing regime.
