MANSEHRA: Heavy rainfall continued across Mansehra and adjoining areas for a third consecutive day on Monday, triggering flash floods and a major landslide that blocked the Jheel Road in Naran, leaving several tourists stranded and disrupting traffic.
According to district authorities, a flash flood in Naran caused a massive landslide on Jheel Road, forcing its closure to all types of traffic. The road linking Naran with Jheel and nearby tourist destinations remains inaccessible as clearance operations continue.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Development Authority (KDA) has dispatched heavy machinery to the affected site, where teams are working to remove debris and restore the road at the earliest.
Several tourist vehicles and jeeps were stranded at different locations due to the road closure. Authorities confirmed that tourists stranded on Jheel Road and the Naran Jheel Khad Road have been safely shifted to Naran.
In light of the ongoing weather conditions, the district administration has advised tourists to avoid non-essential travel to upper parts of Mansehra and Kaghan Valley for the next three to four days.
Rescue 1122 and other relevant authorities have urged the public to refrain from travelling towards Naran until the affected roads are fully restored.
Tourists have also been advised to seek updated travel information and strictly follow the instructions issued by local authorities and rescue officials before heading to the region.
