WASHINGTON: The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has begun a third consecutive night of military strikes against Iran, following directives from the Commander in Chief.
According to CENTCOM, the latest wave of strikes commenced at 4:45 p.m. Eastern Time and is aimed at degrading Iranian military capabilities and preventing further attacks.
In a statement, the command said the operations are intended to impose significant costs on Iranian forces while reducing threats to civilians and commercial shipping transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

US officials said the strikes will continue to increase pressure on Iranian forces as Washington closely monitors the evolving security situation in the region.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most strategically important maritime chokepoints, handling a substantial share of global oil shipments. Any escalation in the area raises concerns over potential disruptions to international energy supplies and commercial shipping.
