KARACHI: Gold prices declined in Pakistan’s local markets on Friday after witnessing an upward trend in recent sessions, according to jewellers.

The price of 24-karat gold fell by Rs1,400 per tola, bringing the new rate to Rs432,436 per tola. The price of 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs1,200, settling at Rs370,744.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Association, silver prices moved in the opposite direction, with the price of one tola of silver increasing by Rs11 to Rs6,432.

In the international market, gold prices also declined, falling by $14 per ounce to $4,100.

Market analysts said local gold prices generally follow international trends while also being influenced by currency exchange rates and domestic market conditions.
