PESHAWAR: The MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company B.V. is sponsoring the All KPK MOL Football Tournament in Lachi, District Kohat, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at promoting youth engagement and community development in its operational areas.

The tournament is being organized by Al Masoom Football Club, Lachi. 32 football clubs from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will compete in the tournament, giving players from across the province a platform to compete and be seen. The opening ceremony was held on July 7, 2026, and brought together club representatives, local officials, and residents of Lachi to mark the start of the competition.

Matches will be played in a knockout format over the following weeks, culminating in a final that is expected to draw large crowds from across the district. Beyond football, the tournament is designed to give young people in Lachi and the wider Kohat region a constructive outlet for their energy and talent, while strengthening ties between MOL Pakistan and the communities near its operations.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Matić Saša, Chief Executive Officer, MOL Pakistan, said “MOL Pakistan is proud to support the All KPK MOL Football Tournament and to stand behind the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sports have a unique power to bring communities together and instill values of teamwork and discipline in young people. This tournament reflects our long-standing commitment to the wellbeing and development of the communities where we operate.”

Mr. Ali Murtaza Abbas, Regional Vice President, MOL Group, added “We’ve been operating in this region for over 26 years. Besides our business goals, a major part of what that means to us is giving back to the communities we’ve worked alongside. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has no shortage of young footballers with real ability; what they’ve often lacked is a stage big enough to showcase their skills. Supporting this tournament is one way we give these young players the platform to prove their mettle.”

MOL Pakistan, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hungary-based MOL Group, has been operating in Pakistan since 1999 and holds working interests in multiple exploration and production blocks, including the TAL and Margalla Blocks. The company remains committed to sustainable community development through investments in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and youth-focused initiatives across its operational areas.
