Meanwhile, in the pre-quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup 2026, Spain defeated Portugal 0-1 after a thrilling match, eliminating them from the tournament, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s dream of winning the World Cup remained unfulfilled. The match played in the American city of Dallas saw a tough competition between the two teams, however, Spain scored a decisive goal in the last moments of the scheduled time and won.
For Spain, Mikael Merino scored a brilliant goal in the 90th minute, which proved to be the only and decisive goal of the match.
