LAHORE: In a major step towards modernizing player development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has installed the latest TrueMan 3 bowling machine at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), becoming the first cricket board in the world to introduce this advanced training technology.
Designed to replicate real match conditions, the TrueMan 3 bowling machine provides batters with a highly realistic practice environment. Unlike conventional bowling machines, it features a high-contrast LED screen that displays the bowler’s action before the ball is delivered, allowing players to closely observe the bowler’s run-up, release point, and timing.
The machine can be programmed to deliver a wide range of deliveries by adjusting line, length, pace, swing, bounce, and height. Coaches can also save individual deliveries, complete overs, or bowling spells, enabling players to recreate specific match scenarios during training.
Speaking on the occasion, PCB Director High Performance Aqib Javed said the TrueMan 3 represents the latest advancement in cricket training technology. He noted that the PCB is the first cricket board to adopt the machine, describing it as a significant milestone in enhancing player preparation.
Aqib Javed explained that traditional bowling machines often fail to provide batters with a realistic view of a bowler’s release point. The TrueMan 3 addresses this challenge by synchronizing the delivery with a visual simulation of the bowler’s action, helping players improve their anticipation, reaction time, and overall match readiness.
Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha also welcomed the addition, saying the technology will help players prepare more effectively for the demands of modern-day cricket. He emphasized that because the ball is delivered in coordination with the bowler’s action, batters must maintain match-like timing throughout their practice sessions.
Salman Ali Agha expressed confidence that the innovative machine will play a key role in improving the technical skills of Pakistan’s batters and provide long-term benefits to players as they prepare for international competition.
The installation of the TrueMan 3 bowling machine reflects the PCB’s continued commitment to embracing cutting-edge technology and strengthening the development of the country’s next generation of cricketers.
