BERN: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Pakistan after completing his official visit to Switzerland, officials said on Monday.
During his stay in the country, the Prime Minister, accompanied by the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, joined in important consultations that took place in Bürgenstock on June 21, 2026.
The discussion revolved around the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and other cooperation mechanisms, according to officials.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was bid farewell from Zurich Airport by senior Swiss officials and Pakistan’s ambassador to Switzerland, Murad Ali Shah Butt.
According to officials, this visit is part of the ongoing diplomatic activities aimed at deepening bilateral ties and implementing the already agreed-upon understandings.
The Prime Minister will soon be returning to Islamabad to resume his official engagements.
