ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated President Pezeshkian and the leadership of Iran and also the Iranian nation on the signing of the historic deal. He stated that the deal would lead to overall stability in the region along with the development and reconstruction process.
According to details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian , marking their first contact following the signing of a recently concluded peace agreement, according to an official statement.
As per the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the conversation between both leaders spanned over more than 30 minutes as both of them discussed the situation arising out of the deal that was signed in Islamabad.
PM Shehbaz expressed Pakistan’s continued desire to work for Iran as a brotherly and neighbouring country.
In his remarks, President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in helping to reach the deal. He thanked the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and leadership of Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for their positive contributions in the mediation process.
“The President of Iran expressed appreciation for the efforts made by Pakistan, and stated that their contribution will be positively remembered. He expressed goodwill for the people of Pakistan and stated that Iran desires to expand bilateral cooperation further.”
The leaders of both countries decided that they should maintain regular contact with each other, and make visits to each other’s capitals from time to time.”
