Cape Town: Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana produced a remarkable all-round performance in a T20 International against South Africa, setting multiple records despite her side’s narrow two-wicket defeat in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Batting first, Pakistan found themselves under severe pressure after losing eight wickets for just 50 runs. However, Fatima Sana staged a dramatic recovery with a counterattacking yet composed innings, scoring an unbeaten 55 off 38 deliveries. Her knock included six boundaries and two sixes, marking her maiden half-century in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

She made partnerships along with Tuba Hassan to take Pakistan closer to a decent score in the light of poor start from the top.

The amazing performance of Fatima Sana made her go down in the record books as she became the first-ever woman captain to make half-century and take 3 wickets in one match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

With regards to bowling, Fatima Sana added 3 more wickets for 16 runs.

Despite of her efforts, South Africa succeeded in achieving their target and managed to edge out Pakistan in an exciting climax to the match.

The best performance of the day, on the other hand, came from Fatima Sana’s all round show which was indeed one of the most unforgettable individual performances ever seen.

Pakistani Bowlers Shine in ICC Rankings as Abrar Reaches Career High

Earlier, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest One Day International (ODI) player rankings, with several top international and Pakistani cricketers featuring prominently across both batting and bowling categories.

In the batting rankings, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell continues to hold the number one position, maintaining his strong run of form at the top of the ODI chart. India’s Virat Kohli is ranked second, further cementing his place among the leading batters in international cricket.

The former captain of Pakistan’s national cricket team, Babar Azam, still ranks in the sixth position in the batting ranking list.

As far as bowling is concerned, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan still holds on to his first position in the ODI bowling rankings list.

Second in the bowling rankings is Pakistan’s spin master Abrar Ahmed, who has done remarkably well recently.

Shaheen Shah Afridi, who is a fast bowler, has improved his ranking position by one and is now at the ninth position on the ODI bowling ranking list.
