Seven people died and thirty-three were injured in rain, wind and lightning incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to details, seven people, including members of the same family, were killed and 33 were seriously injured in multiple incidents of heavy rain, wind and lightning in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of flash flooding in the upper areas of the province and severe heat and humidity in Karachi. The report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority said that tragic incidents of roofs and walls of houses collapsing due to wind and torrential rains occurred in different districts of the province.

Seven people, including two children, four4 men and a woman, lost their lives as a result of the accidents. Beside this this 33 people, including 7 men, 12 women and 14 children, were injured in different incidents. The injured have been immediately shifted to nearby hospitals where they are being provided medical assistance.

PDMA and meteorologists have warned that there is a serious risk of glacial lakes bursting and flash floods in the upper districts of the province due to heavy rains and sudden rise in temperature. The local administration has been directed to remain alert and citizens have been directed to stay away from rivers and canals.

The Meteorological Department, while issuing a forecast for the next 24 hours for Karachi, has said that the heat and humidity will continue to be intense in the city, while the maximum temperature of the city may reach 36 degrees Celsius.

According to experts, there is also a possibility of occasional strong winds at different times of the day. Medical experts and the Meteorological Department have directed the citizens of Karachi to avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun in view of the intense heat and humidity and to use water as much as possible.
