PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Communications and Works Department (C&W) has constituted a high-level fact-finding inquiry committee to investigate alleged irregularities and complaints in road construction tenders in Karak district.

According to an official notification issued by the department, the committee has been formed to examine allegations related to the tendering process of the Warana to Link Road and Warana to Muskan Road projects.

The inquiry committee will be headed by Design Engineer (Roads) Engineer Azmatullah, with Deputy Director (RMU) PKHA Engineer Mustafa Ahmad and Assistant Director PRRSA Engineer Misbahullah serving as members.

The committee has been tasked with reviewing tender documents, technical proposals, bidder eligibility, call deposit receipts (CDRs), and records uploaded on the e-procurement system.

It will also examine evaluation criteria, technical assessments, and financial bids to determine whether any disqualifications were carried out in accordance with relevant rules and documentary evidence.

Furthermore, the committee will review the formation of the procurement committee, approval of technical evaluation reports, and compliance with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (KPPRA) guidelines, including performance securities and other legal requirements.

The C&W Department has directed the committee to complete its review of all relevant records and submit a report to the government within 15 days.

Executive Engineer C&W Division Karak has also been instructed to fully cooperate with the investigation and provide all required documentation.

Provincial Minister for Communications and Works Shakil Ahmad Khan said no irregularities or violations of rules in public development projects would be tolerated, adding that strict legal action would be taken against those found responsible based on the inquiry findings.
