RAWALPINDI: An Mi-17 helicopter of Pakistan Army Aviation crashed near Muzaffarabad today during take-off due to technical fault.

All personnel on board embraced Shahadat. There were no survivors.

Rescue and recovery teams immediately reached the crash site. A board of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the exact technical cause of the accident.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic crash of a Pakistan Army Mi-17 helicopter near Muzaffarabad.

Paying tribute to the military personnel who lost their lives in the accident, the prime minister said the entire nation salutes the sacrifices of its brave sons who served the country with dedication and courage.

The premier offered prayers for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and extended his heartfelt condolences to their families. He also prayed for strength and patience for the bereaved relatives as they cope with the loss of their loved ones.

The helicopter crashed near Muzaffarabad during take-off, resulting in the martyrdom of all personnel on board. Rescue and recovery teams were dispatched to the site, while a board of inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the accident.
