Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi announced the establishment of 72 Model schools for girls and boys aimed to further improve the quality of education in government schools.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that a total of 72 Chief Minister Model Schools for boys and girls will be established in all districts of the province during the next financial year. The total cost of the project has been estimated at Rs 9.5 billion.

The Chief Minister directed that the process of preparing the legal framework for the establishment of Chief Minister Model Schools be immediately started. On this occasion, he said that this project will prove to be a milestone in the government’s education reform agenda.

He said that the model schools will be provided with modern teaching systems, trained teachers, and world-class educational facilities so that students can get quality education. The Chief Minister said that quality education is the fundamental right of every child, and the provincial government is introducing comprehensive and lasting reforms to address the challenges facing the education sector.

He further said that investment in education is actually an investment in the bright future of the province and human development, while these model schools will be made an exemplary model of modern and quality education in the province.

It was informed in the meeting that a separate law, rules, and regulations will be formulated for the project, while a centralized board of governors will also be established to run its administrative affairs.
