The Gilgit-Baltistan Police have issued a travel advisory warning tourists, passengers, and transporters that travelling on the Babusar Road is highly dangerous and requires extreme caution due to severe weather conditions.

According to the advisory, heavy snowfall around Babusar Top and the surrounding areas has restricted the road to limited one-way traffic. Officials stated that the route becomes unsafe after 6 PM when temperatures drop sharply, causing the snow to freeze on the road surface.

The advisory cautioned that avalanches, severe slipperiness, brake failures, sudden glacier movements, and falling rocks and debris could pose serious risks to human life in the initial days following the road’s reopening.

Police have urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel on this route until it is formally declared safe and cleared by the district administration and relevant experts. Travellers are advised to strictly follow the instructions issued by the police and local authorities.
