PESHAWAR (Muhammad Ijaz Afridi): Several officers and officials of the department have been suspended from their posts after major financial and administrative irregularities were allegedly revealed within the Food Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to official documents, the employees who were suspended include the District Food Controller Bannu and Assistant Food Controller Bannu, who have been suspended for 120 days, while the District Food Controller Buner has also faced suspension.
According to the documents obtained, these suspended employees have been accused of allegedly embezzling government wheat. In addition, these employees have also failed miserably in issuing wheat as per the quota and maintaining the department’s systematic records.
The Food Department has formed a high-level investigation committee for a transparent and detailed inquiry into the entire matter, which will conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities and submit its report.
