PESHAWAR (Kamran Ali Shah): The Peshawar police resolved a blind case of murder and attempted murder that occurred on Ajab Khan Afridi Road, arresting the main suspect within just two days. Investigations revealed that the deceased, identified as Asim, was killed by his brother, Yasin.

According to police reports, the SHO of the City Division, Bhana Mari, led the arrest of Yasin, son of Nasir Khan, during a meticulous investigation employing modern scientific techniques. The operation involved the DSP of Yakka Tot Circle and various investigation officers.

Yasin initially claimed that he was travelling with his brother Asim when an unknown person forced them into a car on Ajab Khan Afridi Road, where gunfire erupted. Asim lost his life in the shooting, while Yasin sustained injuries.

Taking the incident seriously, the police formed a special team to investigate from multiple angles. Numerous individuals were interrogated, including Yasin, who was questioned multiple times.

During questioning, the police officials reported that Yasin disclosed details about Asim’s significant debts, amounting to 70 to 80 million rupees, which had led to frequent visits from lenders. On the day of the incident, an argument erupted between the brothers when Asim suggested handing over his unmarried sister to a lender in exchange for settling the debt.

The situation escalated when Asim, in a heated moment, fired his pistol, injuring Yasin. In the ensuing struggle, the pistol fell to the ground, and Yasin picked it up and shot Asim, resulting in his brother’s death on the spot.

The police have recovered the pistol used in the murder from Yasin’s possession, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
