The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission has achieved great success by accelerating its ongoing campaign against quacks and illegal medical clinics who play with human lives.

According to spokesperson Azam Rehman, a full-scale crackdown was carried out in the districts of Peshawar, Swat, Swabi, Malakand, Mansehra, Kohat, Karak, Haripur, Charsadda, Buner, Abbottabad, Bannu and Dir during the last four days.

A total of 566 medical centres were inspected during this campaign, as a result of which 109 centres were sealed on the spot for serious legal violations. In addition, “clearance orders” have been issued to 283 medical centres for not complying with legal regulations.

All these measures have been taken under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission Act 2015 and the Anti-Quackery Regulations 2022. The commission says that these actions against illegal clinics and quacks will continue without discrimination to ensure the provision of quality medical facilities across the province.
