Authorities in Balochistan have intensified their anti-narcotics campaign under the Poppy Eradication Drive 2025 and 2026, successfully eliminating large-scale illegal cultivation across the province.

According to official data, more than 75,569 acres of poppy crops have been destroyed in 2026 alone, marking a significant increase compared to previous years. In 2025, approximately 36,250 acres were eradicated, while only 141 acres were cleared in 2024, highlighting a sharp escalation in enforcement efforts.

The campaign also resulted in the dismantling of 4,064 trafficking networks, destruction of over 22,800 solar plates used for irrigation, and the registration of 225 FIRs. Authorities confirmed that multiple arrests were made during the operation, while several law enforcement personnel sustained injuries during clashes in the field.

Officials estimate the net economic impact of the eradication drive at around $54 billion, underscoring the scale of the illegal trade being targeted.

Visual evidence released by authorities shows extensive before and after comparisons, with once-flourishing poppy fields reduced to barren land following aerial and ground operations.

The ongoing crackdown reflects the government’s renewed commitment to curbing narcotics production and strengthening law enforcement efforts in remote and high-risk areas of the province.
