ISLAMABAD: Security and traffic arrangements have been tightened in the federal capital in view of the arrival of foreign delegations. The district administration has made special arrangements for essential supply vehicles.

The district administration has made special arrangements to ensure that supply of essential items remains uninterrupted, the administration said in a statement.

It said vehicles carrying petroleum products, food items and medicines have been granted special permission to enter the city so that public needs are not affected.

District Magistrate, Irfan Nawaz Memon said that we are in constant contact with distributors of essential food items, fruit and vegetable suppliers, the Drug Regulatory Authority, the pharmaceutical industry, and petrol pump owners and suppliers to maintain a smooth supply chain, the statement added.

According to the administration, vehicles belonging to these categories are not being stopped under any circumstances, while a ban on the entry of heavy transport into Islamabad will remain in place until further notice.

The administration said the measures have been taken to maintain security and ensure smooth traffic flow during the arrival of foreign delegations.
