PESHAWAR: Pakistan Customs has suspended five additional customs officers, ranging from grades 16 to 20, as well as a Peshawar Customs Collectorate officer, in connection with a 400 kg silver fraud case.
The suspended officers include a grade 18 deputy collector, a grade 17 deputy collector, and three grade 16 officers.
Previously, two grade 16 officers were arrested, prompting an investigation that uncovered further evidence and highlighted the direct involvement of additional officers and officials from Kashmir, revealing negligence and incompetence. Consequently, criminal investigations have been initiated against them.
Sources indicate that one of the suspended officers is stationed in Peshawar. Among the suspended are a grade 17 deputy collector, a grade 16 probation officer, and individuals named Allah, son of Abdul Wali, and Arif Ali Jumani.
