The business hours have been changed in the federal capital on energy conservation or administrative grounds, under which all shops, markets and shopping malls will be mandatory to close at 8:00 pm.
According to the notification issued by the district administration, these orders will come into effect immediately and will remain in effect until further orders. The notification clarified that medical stores, hospitals, petrol pumps and dairy shops will be exempted from this ban, while restaurants, hotels, bakeries, grocery, meat, fruit and vegetable shops have been given a concession till 10 pm.
For the convenience of citizens, there will be no restrictions on takeaway and home delivery services. Furthermore, all wedding halls, marquees and private functions have also been directed to be closed by 10 pm. The city’s gyms, clubs and sports facilities have been ordered to close at 8pm.
The administration says strict legal action will be taken against those who violate these hours.
