Iranian Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf thanked Pakistan for helping facilitate negotiations with the United States, saying Tehran had entered the talks with goodwill but remained wary due to past experiences.

Ghalibaf added that members of the Iranian delegation had presented constructive proposals to advance the negotiations, but ultimately the opposing side the United States failed to gain the confidence of the Iranian delegation during this round of discussions.

He said Washington had understood Iran’s logic and principles, adding that it was now up to the US to decide whether it could win Tehran’s trust.
