LAHORE: Lahore witnessed an unprecedented surge in both private and public vehicles entering the city over the Basant festival, setting new records for the city’s mobility.

According to authorities, around 900,000 vehicles entered Lahore in just three days, reflecting a significant increase in road traffic.

Meanwhile, public transport usage also hit record levels, with approximately 1.4 million passengers travelling over two days on the Orange Line, Metro, Feeder, Electric, and other government-operated buses.

Officials described the surge as a historic milestone for the city’s public transport system, highlighting the growing reliance on mass transit options amid rising urban mobility demands.

Authorities have urged commuters to follow traffic regulations and safety protocols to ensure smooth travel as the city manages this unprecedented influx.
