PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi has said that NFC funds for the financial year 2025-26 have not been released yet, due to which development works are being affected.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi has said in his address to the provincial cabinet that development projects, especially in tribal districts, are being affected due to the non-distribution of funds by the federal government; however, the provincial government is making every effort to provide relief to the people despite limited resources.
The Chief Minister criticized the federal and Punjab governments and said that inhuman and undemocratic treatment of Imran Khan and the PTI leadership continues, while on Tuesday, the use of toxic chemicals in water cannons caused the health of workers and leadership to deteriorate, which is against democratic traditions.
Sohail Afridi said that the federal and Punjab governments should focus on the economy instead of political revenge because the indicators of GDP growth, agricultural production, and industrial development are going down day by day. He said that the federal government is only targeting Imran Khan and PTI instead of public welfare.
The Chief Minister directed the cabinet members to ensure field visits to their assigned districts every 15 days so that public confidence is restored and effective checks and balances are established.
He said that a detailed briefing will be held in the next cabinet meeting on the provincial government’s good governance roadmap, and the cabinet will be informed about where the government stands and what the next course of action will be taken.
