PESHAWAR: Member Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Obaid-ur-Rehman has tabled a resolution highlighting the plight of Pakistani students stranded in Afghanistan after the border closure. The resolution was unanimously passed by the assembly.

The resolution was presented by Assembly Member Obaid-ur-Rehman, who drew the house’s attention to the hardships being faced by students due to the closure of border crossings.

According to the resolution, many Pakistani students in Afghanistan are living in an uncertain and distressing situation, stranded far from their homes.

The resolution urged the government of Pakistan to take immediate responsibility for safeguarding the students’ future, lives, and property. It stressed the need for urgent and practical measures to ensure the safe and immediate return of the students to the country.

It further demanded that the government provide students and their families with a clear, regular, and satisfactory roadmap to address the issue and prevent further anxiety.

Emphasising the seriousness of the situation, the resolution called for the immediate removal of the difficulties faced by the students. The house unanimously adopted the resolution, reflecting broad concern over the issue.
