ISLAMABAD: Great Wall Motor (GWM), under the Sazgar Group, has officially launched its new fully electric compact SUV ORA 5 in Pakistan, expanding its electric vehicle lineup in the country.

ORA 5 is the third model by the company in the series of ORA launched in Pakistan and has been launched in the range of existing ORA 3 and ORA 7.

The all-electric SUV is fitted with a 58.3 kWh battery pack of lithium iron phosphate (LFP), which can travel 435 kilometers with the WLTP cycle.

There is a front-wheel-drive motor in the car with 201 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. The electric motor takes just eight seconds to reach the speed of 100 kmph from rest.

The ex-showroom price of ORA 5 has been kept Rs8.599 million, while bookings are open with an advance of Rs1.7 million.

In the emerging electric car market of Pakistan, the ORA 5 would be up against other electric SUVs made by Chinese brands like the BYD Atto 3 and Jaecoo J6 in the same price range.

As per the company, the ORA 5 has quite a few sophisticated features, which include a 14.6-inch 2K touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, 50 watt fast wireless charging, 360-degree surround view camera, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, auto emergency braking, driver monitoring system, panoramic glass roof, electric tailgate, and heat pump air conditioning.

t comes amidst the ongoing growth in the electric car industry of Pakistan, with manufacturers launching new cars in order to cater to increased demand in the market.
