Seventeen Pakistani cricketers, including Test captain Babar Azam, have registered for the player auction for the fifth season of the International League T20 (ILT20).
Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan and Usman Tariq have been placed in the highest base-price bracket of $80,000.
The ILT20 Season 5 auction is scheduled to be held on October 1 at the ICC Academy Indoors in Dubai. More than 200 players from 23 countries are expected to be part of the auction.
The registered Pakistani players include Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, Usman Tariq, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Nawaz, Saim Ayub, Khushdil Shah, Maaz Sadaqat, Sahibzada Farhan and Hunain.
Players have been divided into three base-price categories of $80,000, $40,000 and $10,000. Five Pakistani players have been listed in the top category.
Shadab Khan, Maaz Sadaqat, Hasan Nawaz and Hunain are among the Pakistani players included in the second category, reserved for experienced T20 players.
The auction also features several prominent international names, including Phil Salt, Tom Banton, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Faf du Plessis, Alex Hales, Chris Woakes and Wanindu Hasaranga.
The fifth edition of the ILT20 will be played in the UAE from November 22 to December 20. Each franchise will be required to form a squad of between 18 and 23 players.
The squad composition rules require every franchise to include at least 11 players from ICC Full Member nations, including a minimum of four from Afghanistan and one from Ireland.
Teams must also select at least four UAE players, one player each from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and at least one player from another ICC Associate nation.
