Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Iran-US relations are moving in the right direction, for which Field Marshal Asim Munir has played an important role.
Addressing a ceremony held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Field Marshal Asim Munir has played a key and important role in reducing tensions between Iran and the United States and bringing the negotiations to the right direction.
He said that the world, including Pakistan, is standing at a critical juncture in history. During this time, Pakistan has acted as a sincere mediator to resolve the crisis in the Gulf region. The Prime Minister said that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir established contacts between the Iranian and American leadership during his visit to Tehran.
Shehbaz Sharif said in his address that Field Marshal Asim Munir was constantly on the move to complete this important mission and ensured this process despite all his busy schedules. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that matters between the parties are now moving in the right direction, which is welcome for the region.
Earlier, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang warmly welcomed his visiting counterpart Shehbaz Sharif, where he was presented with a guard of honor by the Chinese armed forces. Terming the visit to China as a welcome one, the Prime Minister said that every time he visits China, he sees a new scene of development and modern construction.
