ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Test captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram has strongly reacted to false reports circulating on social media claiming that he had passed away, dismissing the rumours as baseless and irresponsible.
While sharing a message through the social media platform, the veteran cricketer condemned such people, adding that rumours like these are mostly generated in search of cheap publicity.

Akram, known as the best swing bowler of all time in the world of cricket, stated that he was not feeling well because of the flu, but was thankful to his fans for their concerns and prayers.
At the same time, the former all-rounder also thanked well-wishers for their wishes about his good health.
The legendary cricketer, aged 60 years, stated that the generation of baseless rumours like these can cause disturbance in the lives of fans and families.
The false news about the death of Akram was circulated on social media one day before this statement.
