WASHINGTON: A prominent media platform of the United States, New York Post, has reported that President Trump told The Post on Wednesday morning it is “too soon” to start thinking about face-to-face peace talks between the US and Iran, despite optimistic reports that the two nations were closing in on a potential framework to end their 67-day war.

The publication said its reporter asked whether The Post should prepare to send a reporter back to Pakistan for a new round of negotiations after Islamabad sources revealed a tentative peace deal was close, the president responded: “I don’t think so.”
However, President Donald Trump told The Post that it’s “too soon” to start preparing for a trip to Islamabad, despite reports of the US and Iran closing in on ending the war.
