MANSEHRA: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi has announced several development mega projects for the Mansehra district during his visit and address to a public gathering here on Wednesday.
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, visited Mansehra district to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for 12 essential development projects valued at over Rs 25 billion. These initiatives are designed to provide basic amenities and drive the overall development of the region.
The projects prioritise the sectors of clean water, health, education, and sports to improve the lifestyle of residents and integrate backward areas into the development stream. Key projects include the Mansehra Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme worth Rs 18.5 billion, the Institute of Allied Health Sciences worth Rs 2 billion, the Ichhar Nala Dam worth Rs 1.8 billion, and the Rs 1 billion Thakura Stadium Upgradation. Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated a Degree College for Boys, a Rescue Station in Pano Dheri, and the establishment of Tehsil Tanwal. Other healthcare and infrastructure improvements include the upgradation of BHU Sandesar, the foundation stone for a Cath Lab, the establishment of Kotke Park, and the provision of land for a cemetery.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi described these projects as a gift from the government to the people of Mansehra, aimed at bringing real improvements to their lives.
He said that the balanced development of all districts is a top priority and that resources are being utilised judiciously. He further stated that it is the government’s responsibility to spend public money on welfare, noting that reforms are ongoing in the health, education, and water sectors. The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to including remote areas in the development process while ensuring transparency, merit, and quality in every project.
