RIYADH: At least six Pakistani nationals were killed in a gas cylinder explosion in the Manfuhah district of Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, according to media reports.

The incident occurred late on Tuesday night. Preliminary reports indicate that five of the victims belonged to Mansehra district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Saeed, Abid Hussain, Abdul Rehman, Mohammad Safeer, and Mohammad Rustam. The identity of the sixth victim has not yet been confirmed.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh expressed deep sorrow over the incident, saying its officials are in constant contact with the Saudi police and other relevant authorities.

In a statement, the embassy said that after the completion of legal formalities, arrangements would be made for either the repatriation of the bodies to Pakistan or their burial in Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the wishes of the victims’ families.

The embassy added that it is extending all possible assistance to the bereaved families and remains in close coordination with the Saudi authorities regarding the matter.
