SWAT: At least three persons were injured after a glacier burst struck the Matiltan area of Kalam in Swat district, while a search operation is underway for a missing individual, rescue officials said.
According to initial reports, seven people were affected by the incident. Rescue 1122 Swat, acting on the instructions of District Emergency Officer Syed Shoaib Mansoor, dispatched a medical team that shifted the injured from the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Kalam, to the Central Hospital, Saidu Sharif for further treatment.
The injured have been identified as Hawar Hussain (40), Haris (22), and Haroon (27), all are residents of Rawalpindi. According to rescue officials, three other affected people are safe. However, the administration has launched search operation for Syed Ali Shah, a resident of Khwazakhela, who is missing in the incident. It may be mentioned that the incident took place in an isolated and inaccessible mountainous area.
