QUETTA: Five labourers were killed in a terrorist attack in the Mashkail area of Washuk district, Balochistan, security sources said on Sunday.

According to the sources, armed militants opened fire on the workers, killing all five at the scene. The victims were identified as Muhammad Bilal, Muhammad Hassan, Muhammad Qadeer, Mohsin and Bilal.

Security officials said all of the deceased labourers were residents of Punjab and were working in the area when they came under attack.

Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down those responsible for the attack.

Security sources described the assault as a deliberate attack on unarmed civilians, adding that investigations were underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
