SWAT: A pickup van plunged into a ravine in the Charbagh area of the Swat district, leaving eight people dead, including women and children.
According to Rescue 1122 Swat spokesperson Niaz Khan, the pickup van was returning from a procession when it met with the accident. Four people died on the spot, while four others later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The spokesperson said the incident was likely caused by brake failure.
Upon receiving information, Rescue 1122 medical teams reached the scene along with ambulances and immediately shifted the injured after providing first aid. The victims were first taken to Mangalwar Hospital, while those in critical condition were later referred to Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
Police and rescue teams moved the bodies and the injured to the hospital for further legal and medical procedures.
